Alex Ruston is a Canadian illustrator. She lives and works in Grey Highlands, Ontario.
A bit about Alex:
Alex graduated from the University of Guelph in 2012, with an honours B.A in Studio Art. She has worked creatively ever since, both as a visual artist and illustrator. In 2016, Alex began designing greeting cards and started her brand Honour Bright. Now, she continues working on special stationery collections, and illustrating picture books for the kiddos in her life. Alex has also attended school for early childhood education, and currently works with preschool children. She is excited to share a love of creativity with a new generation and support each child with care and kindness. Working with children has created a passion for picture-book illustration and the stories they tell. This led her to take a short course in book illustration at UAL, Chelsea College of Arts. She is excited to see what’s next, and create stories that have a positive impact and support a bright future.
Alex believes in the power of a handwritten note, in sharing stories with friends, and that the best mornings start with coffee. She finds inspiration in the endless imagination of kids, as well as in oldies music, flowers, vintage photos, animal friends, and the great outdoors.
